Paul Haden was recognized by The Friends of Ballona Wetlands with the Ruth Lansford Legacy Award for his work on the restoration of the wetlands 15 years ago. Ballona is one of the largest (approx. 600 acres) and most significant wetlands in the Los Angeles Basin. Wetlands provide refuge for migratory birds, a safe haven for multiple species of plants, fish, and other animals. It also serves as water quality / flood control basins and new places for people to explore. Paul worked alongside a large team of engineers, biologists, botanists and architects.
