Tucked away in a unique seaside location, this model home has the advantage of borrowing design influences from canyon views while still maintaining the coastal lifestyle in this luxury beach community.

Our goal was to provide a simple and timeless landscape to harmonize with the Mediterranean architecture and contemporary interior. The California lifestyle was enhanced by carrying the same materials from the indoor to the outdoor spaces providing a seamless transition as you move through the site.

 

The landscape program is traditional but the use of forms and texture is contemporary. Strong axial lines extend from the architecture, dividing the site for lounge, pool and art experiences. Though separate in form, the intersecting lines force the user to view and experience it as a composition. The textures provided by water, stone, ancient olives and plant material play contrast to the smooth stucco and limestone paving, reinforcing the contemporary character.

 

While aesthetically pleasing the landscape also reflects the use of water conservation with drought friendly plant materials, drip irrigation and hydrozones. Decorative stone adds texture as a water-conserving design method.
