Altair is a private, gated master planned community in Irvine. It features multiple recreation amenities strung along the Irvine Regional Trail, highlighted by a pool and amenity center located at the heart of the project. Altair strives to be a place for residents to live and play within walking distance from their front door. Set in the heart of Orange County, Altair Irvine adds to the destination living experience through resort-inspired amenities. Whether you are looking to lounge by the pool under some cabanas to catch some rays, spend some time in the park, play a game of tennis or relax in the spa — you don’t even need to leave the neighborhood.

Altair is a unique project that is planned as one of the only gated communities at the Great Park. The challenge was to create a well planned entry experience off of busy Irvine Boulevard. To accomplish this we set the guardhouse and gates further back in the community to create a comfortable sense of arrival. We highlighted the entry with Ancient Olives, creating a truly unique experience.  The next challenge was to spatially plan the community amenities around the Agua Chinon, a restored wash that bisects the project. To achieve this, we created a greenbelt through the heart of the community linking both sides with a pedestrian bridge. The greenbelt extends from the project entry to the community to the north, connecting Altair with its surrounding communities. Within the greenbelt the amenity areas are unique, highlighted by the main clubhouse. The clubhouse features multiple pools and a variety of social spaces. One of the unique ideas is a large rentable clubhouse space. This includes spacious lawn areas, cooking and catering staging areas and a courtyard that can be converted for large events. These spaces can be rented by the community helping the HOA with income for maintenance and improvements. In all, Altair is a unique project that brings innovative ideas to community plans and will differentiate itself in the marketplace. 

THE CLUB & THE TERRACE

Altair Irvine’s main amenities can be found in two locations, The Club and The Terrace, with plenty of parks in between. The Club is a sprawling 7,100 square foot residents-only clubhouse that offers multiple event rooms, a reception area, office, club room and locker rooms. Surrounding this resort-style amenity are covered outdoor spaces with barbecues and fireplaces, tennis courts, bocce ball courts and more. Between The Club and The Terrace, residents have three pools, three spas, a tot lot and more to keep them busy.
